Away from it all...

Labasheeda is a quiet little village beautifully located at the banks of the Shannon, and about halfway on the coast road between Ennis and Kilrush. Shannon View Country House itself is located on a hill just outside village with stunning views onto the Shannon river (see pictures below).
The peninsula beyond the house with its quiet country lanes is ideal for walking and bicycling!
The Shannon Estuary Way is a spectacular and unspoiled riverside destination just off the Wild Atlantic Way.
An area of remarkable beauty, this is where Ireland's longest river, the Serene Shannon, flows into the wild waters of the Atlantic Ocean. It connects the people of Clare to the north and Limerick and Kerry to the south. Along the route, you will find yourself passing through a string of delightful towns and pretty villages – stop off in any one for a chance to meet the locals whose lives and places are shaped by the great river. The Estuary is home to dolphins that live there all year round, even giving birth to their calves there.
The Shannon also offers plenty of possibilities for shore angling. Labasheeda's pier with a fine picnic area and boat mooring installations is also a popular spot for swimming.

The sights of West Clare, the Cliffs of Moher, the Atlantic beaches, Ennis with its shopping streets as well as the market town of Kilrush are in easy driving distance. Kilrush is 20 mins. away and has a fine marina, start point for dolphin watching tours and the boats to historic Scattery Island. The Killimer Shannon Car Ferry is just 15 minutes away, making it easy to explore the neighbouring counties of Limerick and Kerry.

Sightseeing
The Cliff scenery on Loop Head Peninsula is one of Ireland's greatest natural attractions. The Loop Head Drive will take you to numerous scenic outlooks as well as to cliff angling spots. A variety of rare birds, dolphins, whales and seals appear regularly on and around Loop Head. The famous Cliffs of Moher are only 45 mins away; a little bit further to the North is Doolin (where boats are leaving to the Aran Islands) and the unique limestone area of the Burren, a heaven for walkers, climbers and botanists. Also recommended is a stroll through the shopping streets of Ennis with its medieval atmosphere, as well as visiting Bunratty Castle & Folk Park which features many traditional buildings from the area. Medieval dinners are also arranged there throughout the year.
